Could You Donate a Projector & Screen?

Our little environmental documentary, #TreesAreTheKey is nearly a month old and doing well!

Its recent premiere in Lyme Regis was well received and our subsequent plea for planet-loving groups to put on fundraising community screenings, has been spreading far and wide; we’ve got a few nice ones lined up here in the South West.

We believe the best way to raise awareness about why the world needs more trees in the tropics, is by enabling people to watch the film for free and by kindly asking if they can pop a donation in our coffers. Our first screening took place last week in the Guildhall, Chard, hosted by the Green Party Chard and others are queuing up as we speak: see TreesAreTheKey.com/screenings to find an event near you.

However, our master plan to be a positive voice for the forest, has hit a snag – some local environmental groups who’d really like to host the film, lack the equipment to do so. Hiring a hall is easy, but unless everyone wants to huddle around a laptop, their plans for a fundraising movie night, are scuppered!

The Wish List

Here’s the ‘if money was no object’ shopping list from our resident super-geek, Simon. Incidentally, if you’d like to donate any part of it to us, we’d be over the moon to hear from you! Please drop us a line if you’d like to help.

£12.99 Cable: 10m HDMI
£49.99 Case: Aluminium hard case
£50.00 Speakers: Various options, for now just budget £50
Total £702.88

The thing is, we have no budget to buy a screening kit and even if we did have, we could convert £700 into 280 trees and buy almost a 1/14th of a solid stone classroom however, so it’s a difficult call!

We think we’re likely to have more luck with Plan B.

Top notch projectors are the kind of thing some organisations buy just in case they need one – we’re on a mission to find that kit, dust it off and put it to good use.

Or perhaps your firm has made an otherwise great projector redundant, because you’ve upgraded, in which case, we’d love to liberate it and use it to raise money and plant trees.
