It is an absolute pleasure to share our Report and Accounts for 2018-19 with you.
Enormous thanks go to three amazing volunteers – Alexis Boddy, Izzy Robertson and Simon West – for pulling the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and bringing it to life. I realise these sorts of reports aren’t always terribly vibrant or interesting. These wonderful souls pulled all the stops out to blow ours out of the water.
In the pages, we’ve told a handful of the stories and included positive impact reports pertaining to many of our core projects:
- tree planting
- our documentary: #TreesAreTheKey narrated by Kate Winslet
- our Clear the Air: reforest Kenya international conference
- Mothers of the Forest: women’s empowerment activities
- facilitating education
- classroom building
- school twinning
- supporting the Brothers of the Forest too
There are so many people to thank for a charity’s success and we’d need three extra pages just to name them! Thankfully, we now have a terrific crew of dedicated trustees and kindhearted volunteers who work tirelessly to help us get trees in the ground and do much more besides.
We hope you’ll forgive us but we’ve only been able to include a few pictures of a handful of these incredible people, snapped at some of Word Forest’s high points during the year – they’re on the final page.
We hope you enjoy reading it.
