How do you turn a Christmas tree
into a mango?

This isn’t a tired old cracker joke. It’s real. You can turn your Christmas tree into a mango with our help.

For most of us, the first tingles of Christmas come when we’re walking through rows of piled-up cut trees. How tall do we want it? How wide? Does it have a flat side or is it all bottom? The biggie – does it smell like Christmas?

It’s a tradition for a lot of us in the UK. This year, we’d like to add another tradition to your Christmas tree buying rituals.  We’re asking you to plant a tree with us for every real Christmas tree you bring into your home.

The reason we’re asking is because in the UK alone, over 8 million Christmas trees are cut down each year. This is a huge number of trees. A huge amount of carbon that would have been stripped from the atmosphere if those trees had continued to grow for their natural lifespan.

But we get it. Real Christmas trees are beautiful and all part of the Christmas fun.  And they’re here to stay.  What we’d like to do is encourage as many people as possible to plant a tree with us this year.  This is where we need your help.

Please could you print off our poster that is all about our appeal, and take it to your local Christmas tree seller?  Please ask them to display the poster and tell people about our appeal.  There’s a handy QR code on the poster so you don’t even have to remember a website. Just scan the QR code with your phone and it takes you straight through to the appeal page on our website where you can donate your tree.

We will then plant the trees in Kenya. Trees like the mango tree, which will be planted and maintained by the communities we work with and in time, those families will be able to harvest the mangoes and eat and sell them.

So the beautiful magic of your Christmas tree, that you enjoyed and loved for a few weeks, will live on for years to come and will feed a family and provide an income year after year.

That’s the true magic of Christmas!

Will you be a #TreeBeliever this year and invest in the true magic of Christmas with us, the magic of trees?  Help us spread the word and give the planet the gift it needs this Christmas.  Thank you so much for your support.
