Hot Poets – Art Meets Climate Change A Collaborative Project Of Hope

*Edit 2021-10-29* Zena’s filmed poem has been selected as one of 6 to be featured at COP26 as part of the UNFCCC’s (the arm of the UN running COP26) Resilience Pavilion, which is all about positive forward thinking and imagining a better future. *Edit Ends*

The Word Forest Organisation was proud to be invited to be a host organisation in this extraordinary and visionary project. Funded by Arts Council England, it’s being run by Liv Torc, performance poet extraordinaire and Chris Redmond, writer and founder of Tongue Fu, a spoken word and music project. It takes 12 exciting UK poets, placing each in one of 12 organisations at the frontline of climate change; each poet has been able to work with scientists to write a new commissioned poem about the remarkable climate change solutions happening now.

Hot Poets will be releasing a poem a day (filmed by Counterstate Films) throughout COP 26, and there are other live and online events scheduled, details of which can be found on their website.

In their words “We will be cutting through the doom and despair to bring art and climate science together to imagine a better and possible future. Sign up: Be Informed. Participate. Share.”
