Tracey West Talks About The Mothers Of The Forest For International Women’s Day

Listen to this article.

On Saturday 11th March the Exeter International Women’s Festival will be celebrating women locally and across the world.

All are welcome to get involved in this family-friendly free event which will be held at The Phoenix Theatre on Gandy Street, Exeter between 10.30am and 4pm.

It is set to be a terrific day filled with live music, dance, stalls, spoken word, workshops, storytelling, open mic, poetry, speakers, discussion, food and art.

Our CEO and co-founder Tracey West will be giving a presentation and taking a Q&A session on the incredible resilience of the Mothers of the Forest. The Mothers are the women’s empowerment group you generously enable us to support and who plant a great many of our trees. Tracey will also be joined on stage by Madam Therese Nyirangwabije, President and co-founder of the Twongerekawa-Coko Women’s Fairtrade Organic Coffee Co-operative in Gakenke, Northwest Rwanda.

If you’d like to find out more about the Mothers and our work, Tracey and our other co-founder Simon West will be available to continue the discussions after the session on the stage.

The Exeter International Women’s Festival is presented by Devon Fawcett, Refugee Support Devon, Exeter Phoenix, Devon County Council and Devon United Women.

We look forward to seeing you there!
