Our Patron, Clare Nasir is a familiar face on television as a meteorologist, presenter and climate scientist. In this short video (11 minutes) she talks to Tony Juniper, Chairman of Natural England, about the link between access to natural green spaces and good human health. From the Chopwell Wood scheme in 2004 and the growing body of evidence for the importance of nature in promoting wellbeing, to the vital need to improve access to woodland and wild places for those that live in urban areas and the ways that this might be achieved (there are some very exciting ideas already becoming reality), this interview is likely to make you want to run outside and immerse yourself in the nearest wild space you can find, whether it’s a forest, a park, a verge covered in spring flowers or the towpath of a canal.
Thank you so much, Clare and Tony!
