Win 10 Trees Planted in Your Name With a Photo

As you probably already know, as part of our inaugural Trees Are The Key Awareness Week, we’ve been asking you to send in your photos of trees so we can celebrate the beautiful giants that clean our air and provide the oxygen we breathe.

Seeing the images coming into our gallery has brought us so much joy. It’s become increasingly obvious over the last, very difficult year, just how much people have reconnected with and rediscovered their deep appreciation for nature as a whole and trees in particular. It should come as no surprise that so many people have a favourite tree (or two); whether it’s the comfort of having a constant, quiet, reliable presence through the chaos, a familiar old friend that evokes other times and places or a quirky character that could have appeared from between the pages of a book, our bond with trees runs deep.

Who knows – the stories behind the trees that people have chosen may well be the stuff of next year’s competition.

That would bring back some memories – The Word Forest Organisation grew from the wedding forest planted to honour CEO Tracey and MD Simon West’s marriage, through a literary competition that they ran for five years, to become the charity that it is today.

Thank you so much to everyone who has participated in our competition so far and, if you want to enter, you still have time. Today (20th March) is the last chance to get your photo into the competition. Then the judges have the wonderful (if difficult) task of picking a winner – it’s going to be a challenge, since all trees are winners in our eyes!

The best photograph will be announced tomorrow and the entrant will have ten trees planted in Kenya in their name.

Tune in tomorrow for the big reveal. Good luck!
