Today’s Live broadcast at sunrise in the park, focused on how writing out your darkness can help to level you out when you’re going through the mill. In the video, Tracey talked about poetry but in truth, any form of creative writing has the power to help.
It doesn’t have to be a poem, it doesn’t have to rhyme, it can just be a stream of conscious thought or whatever works for you. If you take a notebook to the park and just sit quietly in the company of trees, you might be astonished by the writing you produce.
Speaking of which, we’ve had a beautiful poem sent in by one of our supporters, Anna Twells and I figured you fine folks might enjoy it too – thanks Anna:
Gentle Giants swaying in the air
Colours changing everywhere
From Flaming reds to bottled greens
Seize the light and the winter breeze
With eyes that see their worth
before they leave this precious earth
Keep the birds and butterflies
Dancing leaves in the breeze
Echo sounds of the seas
With the sweetest song that fills the air
Now is the time we need to care
I hope we understand
Why they have to be
How they offer us our sanity
And let our breath be free
Shadows cast across the hills
Blotting out the burning spills
Where happy memories are made
Countless Stars that brightly blaze
Only this one can give us these precious days
