Delegates: please click here to complete the application form – places are limited.

We are delighted to announce details of our inaugural Clear the Air Conference: reforest Kenya 2018.

It will take place between 12-5pm on Saturday 17th February at The Green Belt Movement’s Langata Learning Centre in Karen, Nairobi.

It will be a relaxed but structured forum, designed to do many things, including:

  • share solutions and strategies to extend canopy cover in Kenya
  • identify typical problems that beset reforestation plans and work out how to overcome them
  • network and create opportunities for useful collaborations

Delegates will be invited to participate fully in a range of interactive events. All voices will be heard and positive actions will be taken, post-event.

Delegates are invited to arrive for registration at midday, followed by lunch at 12:30pm, then head into conference.

A tree will be planted for every single delegate in one of our forests in Boré.

If you have any questions about the event, please drop us a line.

The Team

The Green Belt Movement's Langata Learning Centre, NairobiAbout The Green Belt Movement:

The Green Belt Movement (GBM) is an environmental organisation that empowers communities, particularly women, to conserve the environment and improve livelihoods. GBM was founded by Professor Wangari Maathai in 1977 under the auspices of the National Council of Women of Kenya (NCWK) to respond to the needs of rural Kenyan women who reported that their streams were drying up, their food supply was less secure, and they had to walk further and further to get firewood for fuel and fencing. GBM encouraged the women to work together to grow seedlings and plant trees to bind the soil, store rainwater, provide food and firewood, and receive a small monetary token for their work.

About the Venue:
